Telus

Once again this year, the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) will host students from across BC at their CLC Pacific Region Winter School at Harrison Hot Springs from January 14 to 19, 2024.
Hello members, Our members are currently facing an incomprehensible failure in the new Telus payroll system, causing severe consequences for all of us across the country. This has been an eight-week nightmare that mirrors the infamous "Phoenix 2.0" debacle.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! USW Local 1944 adds its voice to the growing chorus of labour organizations, faith communities, advocacy groups, and activists working tirelessly to end the campaign of ethnic cleansing in Palestine.
Hello Members, USW Local 1944 is pleased to announce that a new Collective Agreement for our locked-out Vancouver/Richmond and Surrey/Langley technicians at Rogers has been ratified! 95% of Vancouver/Richmond members and 98% of Surrey/Langley members voted to support the deal, a testament to the membership’s trust in their Bargaining Committee’s recommendation.
Hello Members, Please note that the deadline for acceptance or decline of nominations for Local Union Delegated Meeting delegate has now passed, and the LUDM delegate elections will take place on Tuesday, November 21. Some Units’ candidates have already been acclaimed, while others are proceeding to the ballot.
Dear Members, Once again, Telus payroll problems persist with no end in sight—a glaring testament to their ongoing cost-cutting policies or overall poor planning. Our Union is tirelessly fighting to untangle the mess and ensure every member's issues are not just acknowledged but fully rectified.

Dear Members,

Yesterday, the federal government introduced anti-scab legislation that prohibits the use of replacement workers in both lockouts and strikes for federally-regulated workplaces. This is a monumental win for our cause and a win that will establish fairness at the bargaining table.

Once again this year, the Alberta Federation of Labour (AFL), in collaboration with the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC), will host students from across Alberta at their Winter School. The event is set to take place at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge from January 7 to 12, 2024.

USW Local 1944 is inviting its members to apply for attendance.
Local 1944 Members, Our brothers and sisters from Unit 60 working at Rogers Communications (formerly Shaw) in Vancouver, Richmond, Surrey, and Langley served 72-hour strike notice to their employer on Friday in an effort to achieve a fair collective agreement. After 26 days at the Table over the past nine months, Unit 60 members remain resolute in their refusal to live in a world where they can lose their jobs and watch contractors continue to do their work. The Strike Notice let the company know that we’d begin a series of rotating strikes next week.
