Addressing CEO Darren Entwistle's Request Regarding Mobile Data Use
The Union is compelled to address a troubling communication from CEO Darren Entwistle that was sent on September 24th.
Telus is now requesting that our members restrict their mobile data usage to free up network traffic for other customers— another absurd move by an employer with little respect for working people.
Every year, USW Local 1944 offers 7 scholarships to members’ children graduating from high school and registering in any post-secondary public institution:
3 educational scholarships of $750
4 scholarships of $1,000
The following requirements must be met:
Applicants must be children of active members of USW Local 1944. “Children” includes biological or birth children, children by adoption, and children by other, equivalent relationship;
Applicants must be graduating from high school in 2024;
Applicants must be registering for courses at a public post-secondary institution.
Their Grade 12 transcripts or a copy of their latest Grade 12 report card;
A letter of reference from a teacher or an employer, OR a letter written by someone who is not a family member who can attest to their character and work ethic.
The application deadline is on Thursday, August 1st, 2024
