May 3, 2021 - This year once again, Telus is holding its Annual General Meeting virtually, via live audio webcast on Friday, May 7 at 8:30 am, Pacific Time. President Donna Hokiro will be attending the AGM to represent members of Local 1944.

How to vote

If you are a Telus employee share plan holder, you will receive by mail or email your notice and voting materials form from Computershare.

You are able to vote your shares, or appoint someone else for the vote:

April 22, 2021 - Today, Thursday, April 22nd, 2021, USW Local 1944 conducted the Election of Local Union Officers and Unit Officials 2021.

Voting ran from 5:00 am to 8:00 pm (Pacific Time) by electronic ballot using Intelivote.

The election results can be viewed online.

April 22, 2021 - Today is the election of USW Local 1944’s Local Union Officers and Unit Officials. Eligible members can cast their vote from 5:00 am until 8:00 pm (Pacific Time).

HOW TO VOTE

April 21, 2021 - Tomorrow, Thursday, April 22nd, 2021, members of the USW Local 1944 will be electing the Local Union Officers and Unit Officials.

The vote will be occurring between the hours of 5:00 am and 8:00 pm (Pacific Time).

This will be a secret ballot electronic vote and your vote will remain confidential.

April 19, 2021 - Over the past week, USW Local 1944 members should have received a package containing voting instructions and a unique PIN for the upcoming Election of Local Union Officers and Unit Officials 2021 on April 22nd.

This vote will determine the composition of the Executive Board of USW Local 1944 and the leadership of our Units. A sample voting package can be viewed here.

April 15, 2021 - There is an understandable amount of worry around vaccine distribution and who should get priority over others. I don’t think anyone would disagree that our elder population, and the most vulnerable amongst us should be first. Included in those that are most vulnerable are also those most at risk for contracting the virus.

April 13, 2021 - The USW National Women’s Committee recently launched a national survey on “The Impact of the Pandemic on USW Members and Local Union Leaders”.

Answers to the survey will help the Committee understand the impact of the pandemic on Steelworkers and how it has affected paid work, unpaid work within our households, stress levels, mental health, and volunteer activism in our Union, with a final goal of adapting or adding programs to better help Steelworkers.

April 12, 2021 - USW Local 1944 is pleased to announce that it will be holding its in-person 2021 Local Union Delegated Meeting (LUDM) in December.
