August 5, 2021 - Whether it’s lobbying for paid sick days, standing against racism, bargaining good contracts, or supporting a co-worker who is struggling to cope, USW members stand in solidarity with workers and equity-seeking groups. The Union has introduced a series of 3 online one-day workshops built around the theme of “Solidarity in Hard Times”. The next two workshops are:
September 15 – A Fair and Equitable Recovery
November 10 – Solidarity Looks Like This
This series of online events will give members the opportunity to meet virtually and exchange ideas on how labour activists can support one another and their communities.
Below are the details for the second workshop, A Fair and Equitable Recovery:

Where: Online (a link to access conference platform will be provided after registration)
There are 2 ways you can register:
- Members who are willing to attend on their own time (without needing time off work) can register themselves here directly.
- Members who are not willing to attend on their own time should apply via the Local’s webform, and the Local will register you if you are approved by the Local to attend. Submit your UTO immediately after you received confirmation that you are approved to attend for a total of 6.5 hours. >>> Please register by the end of day, August 24, 2021.
If you are selected to attend these workshops, you are asked to submit to the Local a written summary/review of your experience after you have attended.
