June 22, 2017 - As we near the end of another school year, the USW Local 1944 would like to remind members that scholarships are available for children who are headed to post-secondary institutions.

Every year, Local 1944 offers three scholarships of $750 and four scholarships of $1,000 to children of active members who meet the following requirements:

Applicants must be a child of an active member of the USW Local 1944 who is graduating from grade 12.

Students must be registering for courses at a public post-secondary institution.

Applicants must complete the application form and submit an updated transcript and a letter of reference from a teacher or employer.

The application deadline for these scholarships is August 1.
