November 22, 2017 - Yesterday, members of USW Local 1944 conducted a vote for the 2017 Local Union Bylaw Ratification.
The ratification was conducted by secret ballot through telephone and internet voting. Results were verified through Intelivote Systems Inc.
In order for a resolution to be passed, it needs to receive 66 2/3% support.
The results of the ratification vote are as follows:

| 4 - Removal of Local-specific oath language for Elected Officers and for the President | 65.92% | FAILED |
| 5 - Removal of Unit Sick Committee language | 69.92% | PASSED |
| 6 - Reduction of the frequency of Local Annual Delegated Meetings from every year to every 3 years | 56.98% | FAILED |
