April 14, 2018 - Steelworkers helped build the NDP; now we want to keep it growing. Together, we can elect a government that is on our side.
The USW District 6 is inviting our Local 1944 members in Ontario interested in getting more involved in politics, to apply for a week-long USW Election School. The schools will take place from Wednesdays to Tuesdays, on the following dates:
- May 9-15 (inclusive): Sudbury
- May 23-29 (inclusive): Hamilton
- May 23-29 (inclusive): London
- May 30-June 5 (inclusive): Toronto
Students will be provided training on the following:
- Provincial election issues
- Skills and understanding of election campaigns
- Confidence in having conversations about politics
- Ways to engage USW members in politics
The week will also include volunteering actions with other Steelworkers in NDP campaigns. Please read the official USW Ontario Election School document online for more information.
