The Union is compelled to address a troubling communication from CEO Darren Entwistle that was sent on September 24th.
Telus is now requesting that our members restrict their mobile data usage to free up network traffic for other customers— another absurd move by an employer with little respect for working people.

In Canada, the legislation from some jurisdictions provide a range of acceptable temperatures for specific circumstances. In other cases, occupational health and safety jurisdictions use the Threshold Limit Values® for cold stress as published by the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH). Some Canadian jurisdictions have adopted these TLVs as occupational exposure limits and others use them as guidelines.

January 4, 2019 - The Administrators of USW Local 1944 have accepted the Local Union Election Tellers Report for the elections of the two Regional Executive Officers for Alberta.
December 21, 2018 - 2018 has been an eventful year for USW Local 1944. Highlights have included the successful ratification of a progressive collective agreement for our Unit 60 members at Shaw in Vancouver and Surrey, and the many opportunities our members have had to attend various USW District and International Conferences, labour schools and Shop Steward training.
December 20, 2018 - Today, Thursday, December 20, 2018, USW Local 1944 conducted the re-run elections for two (2) positions of Regional Executive Officer for Alberta. Voting ran from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm (Mountain Time) by electronic ballot using Intelivote.
