On November 20th, Members voted to elect their LUDM delegates and USW – Telus bargaining committee members, and election results have been announced. In a statement, Acting President Donna Hokiro explains why it is important that members at Telus participate in the bargaining survey and get involved in this round of bargaining.

The United Steelworkers launched their new campaign, Raising the Bar on Women’s Health and Safety. This was the opportunity for Acting President Donna Hokiro to raise the issue of bathroom breaks in the workplace at a national level. Please take our survey if you haven’t done so yet.

Members of the Civil and Human Rights Committee reflect on the past 11 months, and why this was a tragic year for Human Rights. They also raise the issue of ergonomics for all who are working from home.

As you know, our Unit 60 members at Shaw Abbotsford are bargaining with their employer; they met during a parking lot rally last month to show solidarity with their bargaining team. Please use the hashtag #NoFear on social media to show your support to Unit 60 members.

The November issue also includes members’ experiences at the USW 2020 Virtual Education Conference and USW District 5 56th Annual Conference in Quebec.
