Weekly Update: March 21 - March 28
Telus Bargaining Survey is Out:
For those of you at Telus: You’ve elected your Bargaining Committee, they’ve now created your Bargaining Survey, and now it’s time for every member to fill out the Survey to tell your Committee what you need out of bargaining. The Survey opened April 1st, and not only does it allow you to describe your priorities, but also to tell us your ideas for strategies and information that you think the Committee should know about the employer that will help us in bargaining. If you want a better workplace, please complete the Survey by clicking here, it takes about 5 minutes (unless you have a story to tell!) and is a critical part of gaining you a deal that will work for you.
Local Leadership is coming for a visit:
One of the three full-time elected leaders of your Local (myself as President, Jennifer Turner as Vice-President, and Ross Brown as Secretary-Treasurer), will be visiting your Unit twice in 2026. Our visits usually involve visiting a worksite in the morning and then holding a meeting or social event in the evening. This provides us a great opportunity to hear directly from some of you about your workplace and your ideas for the Union, and hopefully we’ll have some fun too. Keep your eyes out for a bulletin about when we’ll be in your area. Last week I was in Nanaimo and Victoria, while Jenn was in Red Deer and Edmonton, with more visits from the three of us happening soon.
In Solidarity,
Michael Phillips
President
USW Local 1944
