Bargaining Committee Meeting
The Local’s Telus Bargaining Committee met in-person earlier this month for three days. The 6-person Committee (three elected members, two staff, and myself) first reviewed your bargaining survey results, then we began to map out broad bargaining priorities. As well, we strategized how the Local will generate the power to achieve these priorities. We got a lot done during the week, including a step-by-step timeline for drafting final written proposals by the end of October.
On the last day of our meeting, we filmed a video for you laying out where we plan to go from here. It's great to see that it already has over 4,000 views between Facebook and YouTube, larger than the Local's membership count.
Just as you’re getting an early look into the bargaining preparation process now, you’re going to see a lot more of the bargaining process this round than ever, as it unfolds. You’re going to know what the Committee is trying to achieve for you, and the Committee is going to need your ongoing support to get what we need.
In Solidarity,
Michael Phillips
President
