You may have already heard of the USW’s participation in the Canadian Telecommunications Workers Alliance. It’s a coalition of USW, Unifor and CUPE, the largest Unions in Canadian telecom, which launched in February of this year.

Since launch, the CTWA has influenced the language of a Parliamentary Bill regulating telecom (C-8), helped move the telecom discussion on Parliament Hill with our very influential testimony to the Industry Committee (INDU), made many political and media connections, among other progress.

Unifor created a video about the CTWA and these developments, using material from USW and CUPE, for their recent Telecommunications Council conference. Take a look:
