International Labour Day 2019 in the Province of Québec

April 30, 2019 - A march is scheduled in Montréal on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, for International Labour Day. The march will start at 6:00 pm from the Park metro station (at the corner of Avenue du Parc and Jean-Talon). Among other demands, the march will support these crucial demands:

  • Good jobs with good working conditions that sustain our communities,
  • A strong labour movement,
  • A universal prescription drug plan,
  • A society open to diversity,
  • Good pensions.

A gathering is also planned in Montérégie to show solidarity with the ABI workers who have been locked out of their jobs since January 2018 – the evening will start at 5 pm (169 rue Champlain, Salaberry-de-Valleyfield).

“By taking part in these actions, you are asking the provincial government to make good on the promises they made,” said Isabelle Miller, National President. “We need to wake the government up to these issues, and we can only do so by demonstrating that we are ready to take up the fight in the defense of workers’ rights.”

In Solidarity,
