Telus Bargaining Update #34 - Strike Vote

Hello Members,

Despite repeated attempts, Telus has persistently declined to resume negotiations, leaving us with no alternative but to take decisive action.

Your Bargaining Committee is therefore seeking your support in a call to STRIKE, if a negotiated agreement cannot be reached.

Thanks to your unwavering support, our Union is now stronger and more cohesive than it has ever been, with the latest proof being the hundreds of members who practice-picketed in all-weather this past weekend across the country. The number of members rising up to take action for themselves and their coworkers continues to grow day over day, week over week. As we’ve demonstrated, we are unstoppable and relentless.

Stay resolute. With the full support of the USW International Union, we are ready and are strategically prepared.

Tomorrow you will receive several Zoom registration links, providing multiple meeting time options. We are offering a morning, evening and weekend option for everyone.

You are to register for only one of these meetings, whichever is most convenient for you. If you register for one meeting, you will be ineligible to register for the others.

When registering, please use the email address that we have on file for you, either the email address that you would have entered on your original Membership Application Form to join the Union, or any updated email address you may have provided us. Do not register with your telus.com email, you will be denied.

Once you register, the Union office will determine your eligibility to vote and will approve your registration. Approval may not occur immediately but should occur at least 48 hours prior to your meeting.

Upon approval, Zoom will send you your secure, individualized meeting link, which can only be used to access your Strike Vote meeting on one device (so it cannot be shared). Also, note that the Zoom link could be sent to your junk folder, so be sure to check there as well.

All attendees at the Strike Vote meetings will therefore be eligible voters, and electronic balloting of whether to authorize a strike will occur through Zoom during the meeting.

You will receive registration options for your own membership Group as well as the Open meeting options, but for your information, this is the complete Strike Vote meeting schedule:
