Bargaining Update #28

Hello Members,

As mentioned in Bargaining Update #27, your Bargaining Committee is holding Town Hall meetings to show you the sub-par contract that Telus is offering. You will have an opportunity to vote on this abhorrent offer. As you know, we are recommending a NO and will explain our rationale in detail and answer all of your questions during these upcoming sessions.

You will receive several Zoom registration links via email this week, providing multiple meeting time options. We are offering a morning, evening and weekend option for everyone, and in fact, Federal Conciliation with Telus has been extended by two weeks in order to allow for this wide selection of meeting times. You are to register for only one of these meetings, whichever is most convenient for you. If you register for one meeting, you will be ineligible to register for the others.

When registering, please use the email address that we have on file for you, either the email address that you would have entered on your original Membership Application Form to join the Union, or any updated email address you may have provided us.

Once you register, the Union office will determine your eligibility to vote and will approve your registration. Approval may not occur immediately but should occur at least 48 hours prior to your meeting. Only members in Good Standing are eligible to vote.

Upon approval, Zoom will send you your secure, individualized meeting link, which can only be used to access your Town Hall meeting on one device (so it cannot be shared). Also, note that the Zoom link could be sent to your junk folder, so be sure to check there as well.

All attendees at the Town Hall meetings will therefore be eligible voters, and electronic balloting of whether to accept the contract will occur through Zoom during the meeting.

You will receive only the registration options for your own membership Group, but for your information, this is the complete Town Hall meeting schedule:
