President’s Message: Securitas Technicians’ Excellent First Agreement 

Hello Members, 

I wanted to share some good news with everyone. On July 16th, technicians at Securitas Technology, Local 1944’s newest bargaining unit, ratified their very first Collective Agreement with 88% voting in favour of acceptance. This strong first contract sets a solid foundation for the future, delivering major wins in wages, job security, and working conditions. 

Highlights include: 

• Average wage increases retroactive to May 5th 2025 of 13% in the first year 

• Additional annual increases of 2.5% through a four-year agreement 

• Strong additional increases every six months based on tenure for those not at the maximum rate  

• Strong jurisdictional job security language, defining core bargaining unit work 

• Strong limitations on the Company’s ability to use contractors 

• Strong Layoff, Recall and Automations protections 

• Large increases to on-call premiums 

• 7 Unplanned Emergency Days (PDOs) 

• Enhanced Health & Safety Language
