February 14, 2019 - Dear members,

Several of you have shared your displeasure regarding the format of your regular unit meetings. Some points raised were with respect to the structure of the meetings themselves, the frequency or lack thereof, the desire to be able to participate by other means if you’re not physically able to attend, and so on.

January 30, 2019 - Today, Local 1944 Executive Board members were sworn-in at the Leo W. Gerard Union Centre in Mississauga, Ontario. Congratulations are extended to the new Executive Board.

February 1, 2019 - Black History Month gives us the opportunity to recognize the contributions of the black community throughout the country.

October 16, 2018 - The 2018 Ontario municipal and school board elections will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018.

October 5, 2018 - The 2018 Municipal Elections in British Columbia are now underway.

October 3, 2018 - October 4 is the National Day to commemorate Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (hereafter MMIWG).

October 3, 2018 - BC Hydro has notified us that they will be performing emergency work around our Burnaby Head Office on Thursday, October 4th.

October 2, 2018 - We appreciate the patience from USW Local 1944 members as we worked through Administration over the past few months. 

October 1, 2018 - In Canada, October is Women’s History Month, a time dedicated to honour the achievements and contributions of women and girls today and throughout our history.

September 28, 2018 - USW Local 1944 encourages our members in Québec to make their vote count on Monday, October 1, 2018, for the 2018 provincial general election.

September 21, 2018 - Advance voting for the 2018 provincial general election in Québec starts today, Friday, September 21, 2018.
