Hello Members,

In our last communication, we announced who were the successful candidates elected to your bargaining committee.

But what’s next?

While your employer is still asserting that your work is provincial jurisdiction and have attempted to stall bargaining until that assertion has been ruled upon, the Union has counter-asserted that your work remains federally regulated and that the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB) order should be respected by Ericsson. We have also advised that we will not consent to pausing the bargaining process for this frivolous assertion that the company is making.

To that end, we have reached an agreement with the company about how to get your elected bargaining committee booked off the job in order to participate in bargaining-related activities.

We will be having the committee meet in Winnipeg the week of April 13th to meet each other, undergo some bargaining training, develop a bargaining survey and begin developing some bargaining proposals to be tabled with the intention of getting to the table as quickly as possible.

We will be sending out the survey after that training week. Your participation in the survey is most appreciated as it will help us rank the bargaining priorities that you’re looking for in this round of bargaining.

We would like to mail you Union Swag to your home address, please sign up here, so you can show your solidarity during this upcoming round of negotiations! You will be receiving some exciting USW items like: a toque, thermos, hat, button, lunch kit, t-shirt.

If you have any questions, please reach out to contact@usw1944.ca

We appreciate your continued support and solidarity!

In Solidarity,
