Captec Bargaining Update #3
Hello Captec members,
We met with the Company on April 7 and 8, 2026. The company responded to our opening proposal and have aligned on some of the principles towards the formation of your first collective agreement.
We have also reached some alignment in several areas such as; Health and Safety provisions, grievances and arbitrations, and tools provisions. Ultimately, our goal is working towards language that is designed to protect your work and your jobs from contracting out.
Further, we are continuing to dialogue about paid and unpaid leave protections, seniority rights and securing strong provisions with tech change (A.I. & automations).
We recognize the elephant in the room that is in the forefront of everybody's minds - wages and compensation. As previously mentioned, the monetary discussions occur towards the end of the process. While there have been a few items tabled that touch on monetary, building the foundation of language is the current priority. We will keep you informed throughout the bargaining process.
Thank you for your continued engagement and solidarity!
