Hello Captec members,

Today your committee had its first day of bargaining with your employer.

The conversations were respectful and we feel that they were productive. We provided the employer what we would consider to be the foundation of your first Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and included language about non-monetary items such as JOHSC (Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee) language, a grievance procedure, discussions around seniority, time off provisions and automation protections.

As part of the bargaining process, much like other things that are built, we start with foundational language that puts the framework of the agreement together, and then we get into monetary (wage and time off) language further along in the process.

We have additional dates set for April 7 and 8 and await the employer’s replies to our tabled proposals.

Thank you for your continued engagement and solidarity.
