Hello members,

On Friday night, members of USW Local 1944 Unit 60 at Rogers in Abbotsford voted unanimously to reject the Company’s latest offer.

Following the rejection, Unit 60 members proceeded to a strike vote and delivered a decisive message to Rogers, voting 100% in favour of strike action.

Considering it took only 4 days of bargaining before Rogers Communications unexpectedly requested federal government conciliation, it’s no wonder that the Company’s offer was not up to our standards.

Unit 60 Abbotsford has sent a powerful message that they will not accept second-class treatment. Abbotsford members are paid far less than their Vancouver and Surrey counterparts at Rogers, and we demand equal pay for equal work.

This is about fairness. This is about respect. This is about standing up and standing together.

It’s time for Rogers to come back to the table with an offer that respects the value of our members’ work.

In Solidarity,

USW Local 1944
