USW Local 1944 is proud to be Canada’s Information and Communications Technology Union with over eight decades of advocating for fairness at work. Now, it’s time for non-unionized workers throughout Canada to find their power and voice by joining our Union. We are excited to invite you to visit the newest addition to our online presence, a website for our future members: thetechunion.ca! 

What’s New?  

This fresh, new website is designed to:  

• Educate non-unionized workers about the many benefits of joining Local 1944 
• Provide resources and information on how to organize new workplaces and how Steelworkers tirelessly advocate for fairness at work 
• Showcase USW Local 1944 as the Union of choice in the tech sector across Canada 

Where to Find It?

Local 1944’s original homepage at usw1944.ca now contains multiple links to thetechunion.ca  

While on the new site, members can click on the Members Portal tab to get to our original site for news and resources. 

We encourage you to share it with anyone you feel needs a union at their workplace – we’re ready to help them find a better way to work. Also, emailing organize@thetechunion.ca will go directly to our organizing team so we can get in contact with them as soon as possible. Together, we can build stronger workplaces and empower more workers across Canada!
