Telus Payroll Arbitration Update
Hello members,
See this update from President Michael Phillips.

The arbitrator assigned to this case has informed us that he has accepted a new position and will no longer be able to continue with the case due to taking on another position in the field. And yes, this is the second time that our designated payroll arbitrator has indicated that they are not able to continue with the case, although, to be clear, neither of these circumstances were the arbitrator's fault.
To say this is frustrating would be an understatement. We have raised the issue of the shortage of arbitrators with the BC government before, and this situation is a prime example of the challenges the labour movement continues to face. You’ve dealt with payroll errors since Telus introduced its new system, and you’ve waited a long time for a resolution. You’re right to expect progress.
We are already taking steps to secure another Arbitrator. There was no way to anticipate this situation, and we share your frustration. You deserve a process that functions properly, and we are doing everything we can to get the arbitration back on track as quickly as possible. If you currently have an ongoing payroll issue that has not been resolved and has been reported to management without a resolve, please email: payrollissues@usw1944.ca
We will update you as soon as the next step is confirmed. It’s very regrettable that the arbitration system is not working for you in this situation.
In Solidarity,
Michael Phillips
President
