ABOUT THIS COURSE
This three-day course was developed to meet the unique needs of Local 1944 in collaboration with the USW Canadian National Office. It emphasizes the steward's role as an educator and advocate, as well as the grievance procedure. Participants will receive a manual and an information binder designed for use as a reference guide to assist with various workplace issues.
WHO CAN ATTEND
The course is open to all members in good standing, except for those who completed Shop Steward Level 1 online training in 2021 or after.
EQUIPMENT
Participants will need a computer or tablet with a functioning camera and microphone.
REGISTER IN TWO STEPS
STEP 1

STEP 2
Once done, submit your Union Time Off request to your manager as soon as you register for the course, and follow up with them every couple days until they confirm that Union Time Off is approved.

Each member can only sign up for one class and can only change it for another class with the approval of the Union.
If you are selected to attend these workshops, you are asked to submit to the Local a written summary/review of your experience after you have attended.
