Call for delegates to participate in the 52nd Constitutional Convention of the Alberta Federation of Labour

January 21, 2021 - The Alberta Federation of Labour (AFL) will be holding its 3-day Constitutional Convention virtually, on May 13-15, 2021.

If you are interested in attending the 52nd Constitutional Convention of the Alberta Federation of Labour, please submit an application for consideration.

The deadline to apply is Friday, January 29, 2021.

The AFL Convention commences on Thursday, May 13th and continues until 4:00 pm on Saturday, May 15th. A platform orientation will be hosted for all who are interested on Thursday, May 13th, at 5:00 pm. New delegates are encouraged to attend an orientation session on Friday, May 14th at 8:00 am.

Thursday, May 13
Convention Committees – hourto be determined
Equity Caucuses – hourto be determined
Platform orientation – from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Keynote Speaker – from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Friday, May 14
New delegates orientation session – from 8:00 am to 9:30 am
Convention (morning) – from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm
Convention (afternoon) – from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm 

Saturday, May 15
Elections – hourto be determined
Convention (morning) – from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
Convention (afternoon) – from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Delegates will need access to a computer or tablet with reliable internet in order to fully participate. The AFL will communicate log in information ahead of the Convention.

The AFL will make every effort to accommodate specific services such as accessibility, assistance and special needs requests, as well as child, elder, dependent care during the convention. 

Please note that only members from Alberta will be selected to participate.
