April 1944@Work: National Executive Board meeting, greedy job cuts at Shaw in times of crisis, Scholarships 2020, and more

April 30, 2020 - Check out the April 2020 issue of your magazine.

The National Executive Board held its quarterly meeting earlier this month. Despite the increased need for telecommunications services throughout the country, our members at Shaw are suffering job cuts. This issue also features news on the Rand campaign in Quebec, updates from some of Local 1944’s committees, information on scholarships for 2020, and our thoughts on how the UCP government in Alberta uses the COVID-19 crisis as an excuse to make more cuts in the public sector

Now is a time for all of us to show solidarity to those who need it the most. We compiled lists of organizations, per province, that need volunteers to deliver groceries to our elders.

As always, check your email box regularly for Unit Meeting notices; all Unit Meetings are still held by web conference Zoom only
